she comes from the land down under

My great friend Roseleen is home from her DTS in Brisbane, Australia! I was at In N' Out ,because it was Wednesday and that's what I do, sitting in my car waiting for people to show up. I turned to my left and saw Kenny Hayes and Kendra (Roseleen's sister) I looked to see who was in the back seat and remembered it was April 30th and she was home!!!! I jumped out of the car and screamed! She is one of my oldest and I have missed her sooo much!!! It was so great to see her and talk with her for a little bit about life!

I seriously still have a huge smile on my face! I'm so excited that she is home for the summer! We will be at the lake everyday in case anyone will be looking for us. HAHA!

reflecting the weekend

Haha! It was and AMAZING weekend. Friday started great, being that it was senior ditch day and I did not have to go to school. Always a great thing, always. Here's how the weekend proceeded...

- Went to Cosco with my good friend Jesse, who was home from culinary art school.
- Went and saw Baby Mama with some girls. Definitely a funny moving with tons of great lines! After the movie we headed over to InNout, where I made the smart decision to do a ballet move in the parking lot and landed flat on my back!
-Saturday morning was spent shopping with Bekah but it was the night time that brought on the good clean fun! Jesse wanted to do something memorable for his last night in town, something familiar but oh so new and exciting! We some how ended up at Winco in the bulk food section. Did you know that Flour is 25 cents a pound?! We were pleasantly surprised! We bought 22 lbs of it! And two gallons of water. This was turning into the cheapest prank ever, $7 total! So we had the supplies now we just needed to think of a victim. Heather Smith came to mind...she is absolutely paranoid that she is going to get pranked, so we headed to her apartment! She wasn't there so we headed to another of her hangs outs. Lucky for her she was in Chico so we moved on to the next possible victim. We headed over Shelby Schwitters! While she was in her apartment we completely covered her car with the flour and water, paper mache style. After we waited for her to come out and see our beautiful masterpiece... She immediately called/texted us but we used are amazing skills and convinced her it was not us!
-The weekend was finished with an amazing night at the stirring. Nate spoke more on spiritual gifts and it was “awesome!” It was so amazing to get prayer and encouragement for the gifts that I have and the ones that are the desire of my heart!

God is moving in crazy ways here in Redding and it is so amazing to be here to witness!
And to have losts of fun along the way...

He Will Do Great Things

Tonight I had an epiphany.

This evening I was talking to a friend and I could just see the anger in him. I don't know where it comes from but I just know that it is something that controls his life. My heart broke for him, but it did more than just break, it changed.

I know some amazing people, men who a few years ago, if you knew them, you would never recognize them today. Their lives were so different, and did not reflect the light of jesus. But now if you look at them, they have become strong men of faith.

Tonight I realized that we can not judge people by what they are like currently but view them as who they could turn out to be. Because if we don't believe that they too will become great we underestimate the miraculous power of God! God can work in amazing ways and turn peoples lives upside down.

As followers of Christ, I believe, we must not judge anyone, for that is up to God, but also stand beside them and encourage them as the Lord molds them into the people they are called to be.

Goodnight.

a different outlook or outfit

So I'm sitting in the mount shasta mall, waiting while my friend bekah is trying on summer dresses. [I'm on my brand new Blackberry by the way] But that's not why I'm writing. I was walking around this store and I can't believe how cheap everything is.

But these good deals don't scream, “BUY ME!” They yell, “I was made buy a women in India who makes 20 cents an hour” and I lose all interest.

Maybe this is why most Americans refuse to realize or care where their consumer items come from, because then they would have to feel guilty.

I think we need to care where things come from, and maybe dish out a little more cash. I believe it's worth it. Do you?

What happens in the silence...

Thursday night I started a fast with my lifegroup. We all choose something different. Since I spend quite a lot of time in my car, I choose to fast music in my car. My whole life is filled with noise. Silence has become awkward. But during this time of silence the Lord has been speaking to me about my strengths and weaknesses and what I bring to the table. And has used the books I read to encourage me.

In Rob Bell's book SexGod he writes:

"Have you observed people who have to have a radio on, the television on, or their iPod near by? Are you one of those people? One of the reasons some have to always have noise and external stimulus is because they are terrified of the silence. The stillness. The present. If you stop and rest in the quiet, you will have to listen to what is going on inside you. And this can be frightening. Imagine a person who never listens to their own soul, who never sits in the silence with themselves, who is never naked with themselves. Imagine this person trying to become echad with another. How can a person mingle with another soul when they are out of touch with their own?"

I have become this person. I am so afraid of where my own thoughts will take me.

Everyone else was doing it...

It's Sunday night and Emily told me I needed to get a blog or I wasn't cool.

So here's goes nothing...

I cannot get over how good life is right this very second. I could not be happier in the place that I am at. I am surrounded by people who lift me up and encourage me. I have honestly found home.
